Money protection

Propertymark’s client money protection (CMP) scheme is an industry standard guarantee to protect landlords and tenants from rogue agents.

What is money protection?

To protect landlords and tenants from rogue estate agents, it is mandatory for lettings agents in England, Wales and Scotland to have a client money protection (CMP) scheme in place.

As Propertymark members, Mo Move have gone through a thorough process to ensure we qualify for the scheme. This includes submitting 12 months of detailed bank statements for our client bank account.

We have also proven that our day-to-day business practices are of the highest standard that Propertymark demands.

We are a member of Propertymark voluntarily and are committed to completing regular financial audits. This means that money we receive from our tenants and clients is not being misused and our business practices are kept to the highest standards.

Why are CMP schemes important?

Propertymark is at the forefront of campaigning for CMP schemes to be mandatory across the United Kingdom. They are currently mandatory in England, Wales and Scotland.

Every year, unprotected landlords and tenants lose money when funds are misappropriated. The simplest way to ensure your money is kept safely is to always choose an agent who is a Propertymark member.

Propertymark members are committed to raising standards in the property industry, giving complete peace of mind to landlords and tenants alike.
