If you want to move house in the spring, getting your property on the market in December is a great idea to beat the January rush.  Once Christmas Day is done and Boxing Day leftovers are eaten what do people do?  Start making plans for the New Year!  For many, this can mean moving home.

Last year’s Rightmove statistics show that between Christmas and early January the amount of traffic on Rightmove almost doubled!  All those lovey new phones and ipads are made to good use and families are together for longer periods of time enabling important discussions to be had. On the first working day of January 2019 over 3 million people visited their website with numbers rising to a record breaking 110 million for the month…that’s a lot of buyers!

At Christmas, homes look cosy and feel welcoming.  There is something magical about viewing a property at Christmas.  Sometimes stepping into a warm, cosy home on a cold, drizzly day can have just as positive effect as viewing a property on a warm summer day.

Those buyers house hunting in December and January are generally good quality, committed buyers. There also tends to be less properties available at this time of year therefore less competition for the buyer’s attention.

We are offering a Do Not Disturb policy to our vendors over the immediate Christmas period so if you don’t want your precious family time to be disrupted, we can get your property on the market before Christmas but will hold off on any viewings until the New Year.  However, if you want to carry on with viewings over the festive period, we are happy to oblige!
